THE design of the present undertaking is to give a complete Pictorial Representation of LONDON and its Suburbs, with a brief, but faithful account of every thing worthy of observation to a Stranger. In pursuance of this, the Proprietors and Editor have deemed it advisable to subdivide the extent of this great Metropolis into easy Walks, and to accompany each Walk with a small Map, and Views of the most interesting Objects within it.

In this Work, nothing calculated to meet the Wishes, or gratify the Curiosity of the intelligent Observer, will be neglected. The COMMERCE, WEALTH, and POPULATION OF LONDON,-its ARTS and SCIENCES,-its unrivalled and universal CHARITIES, its PUBLIC EDIFICES, its PALACES and noble PRIVATE BUILDINGS, will here be suitably enlarged on; and, prompted by the success which has attended the two former Numbers of the WORK, which has exceeded the most sanguine expectations of the Proprietors, it is determined, no pains or expense shall be spared, in rendering it a COMPLETE PANORAMA of the great EMPORIUM of the World.

W. WILSON, Printer, 4, Greville-Street, London.
