That any Perfon or Perfons, gi.ted for any the Particulars abovefaid, may have Liberty therein, either as an Itinerate, in Private or Publick, at the Rates abovefaid.

That no Perfon or Perfons be admitted to compound for Liberty of Confcience, until he, or they, have first taken, and fubfcribed to the folemn Proteftation following, before the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers, or their Sub-Commiffioners refpectively.

A. B. Do here folemnly pzorest, That judge my telf fill bound by the Colemn League and Covenant, by the Engagement, by p;ibare o Church Covenant, oz by any other Darh which I have taken ever ance the Pear 1641. And that, fo far as with fafety to my Perlon and Cftare may, I will endeavour the utter Ericpation of Erifcopacy; and, to the utmost of my Power, will as bert and promote all Schilin, Fac

tion and Discozd, both in ChurchTM and State, acco¿ding to the belt form and manner, pzescribed and laid open in the Sermons of many of the Grand Commisioners and Farmers, before the Parliament, appointed to be Printed, and now called, The Homilies of the Sepa rated Churches. And that I will neber, by whar Conviction of Authozity Coever, whether Legal_og Episcopal, ever confent to the Cata blith's Doctrine end ifcipline of the Church of England.

And I do likewile believe, That Liberty of Conscience was a mpAterious, per profitable Talent, committed to the Churches, and that it may be lawfully Farmed our fog Advantage and Improvement.

That no Perfon, within the Kingdom of England, Dominion of Wales,. or Town of Berwick, may, from, and after the twenty fifth Day of March next, ufe or exercife any man ner of Liberty of Confcience, except Perfons ftanding conformable to the Church of England; until fuch Per

fon or Perfons fhall first take the Solemn Proteftation, and fhall Compound with the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers, for Liberty of Confcience, nor fhall he be admitted or permitted to be a Speaker or Hearer, in any Meeting or Affemblies whatfo

ever.

That the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers of Liberty of Confcience, may have Power to conftitute, under the Publick Seal of the faid Onice, a convenient number of Spiritual Ga gers, who may have and exercife all fuch Powers, Privileges, and Authorities, as the Gagers for Excife of Beer and Ale have, or ought to have and enjoy, and may, at any time, in cafe of Sufpicion, enter into any Houfe or Place, Publick or Private, to Gage and try the Spirits and Affections of any Perfon or Perfons; and by Praying, Preaching, or other good Exhortation, diffuade from Epifcopacy, and the Common-Prayer, the better to fit and prepare them to compound for Liberty of Confcience.

That the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers of Liberty of Confcience, may have Power to Fine any Perfon or

Perfons, (not exceeding the Sum of Twenty Pounds for every Offence) who fhall, after Compofition for Liberty of Confcience, and fubfcribing the Solemn Proteftation, be prefent in any Church or Chappel, within the Kingdom of England, Dominion of Wales, and Town of Berwick, in the time of any part of Divine Service, unless at the Funeral of his Father, or fome o-. ther like Occafion, he fall either refpond, be uncovered, or carry himself reverently in the Time of Divine Service aforefaid.

That the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers of Liberty of Confcience, or any twenty four of them, affembled at the Office, aforefaid, may have and exercise a Jurifdiction of Appeal, in all Matters relating to Liberty of Confcience, within the faid Kingdom of England, and fhall have a conclufive Power in all Matters brought before them,by way of Appeal as aforefaid.

That for the better Management of all fuch Matters as fhall be brought judicially before the faid Grand Commiffioners and Farmers of Liberty of Confcience, by way of Appeal, the faid Grand Commiffioners and Far
