Officers' children attend a school
maintained by the officers at
post. Would like to have
some provision made to re-
lieve enlisted men from cost
of transportation and books
for children attending school.
Where tuition is charged it
should be paid by the Govern-
ment.
Tuition should be paid by the
Government, as soldiers can
ill afford the expense.
No legislation in the matter
necessary.
Since April 1, 1903, his 2 child-
ren have had access to a good
school only 3 months (at
Fort Slocum). Battalion
since July, 1905, has traveled
5,383 miles making 3 changes
of station.
