Where there are works to make Him known, Or saints to love the Lord.

The God whom we adore,

Be glory as it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

1 THE God of mercy be adored,

Who calls our souls from death: Who saves by His redeeming word, And new-creating breath.

2 To praise the Father, and the Son, And Spirit, all Divine,

The One in Three, and Three in One,

Let saints and angels join.

That grace whereby our spirits live;

Whose name has mysteries unknown;

A social nature, yet alone.

2 When all our noblest powers are joined,
The honours of Thy name to raise;

And saints that dwell below,
Worship the Father, love the Son,
And bless the Spirit too.

Who chose us in His love;

Who conquers by His sovereign grace, And brings us strangers nigh.

Be praise amid the heavenly host,

And in the church below;

From whom all creatures draw their breath,
By whom redemption blessed the earth,
From whom all comforts flow.
