oftener if necessary, at One o'clock, to transact current business, to audit the Accounts, and to confirm the proceedings of the foregoing week. Three of the Committee shall form a quorum on the days of Meeting.

Annual XX. There shall be held an Annual General Meeting. Meeting of the Club, on the Second Monday in May, for the purpose of electing one-third of the Committee for the succeeding year, and receiving a Report and Abstract of the state of the Accounts and general concerns of the Club for the Past Year from the Committee; together with an Estimate of the Receipts and Disbursements of the Current Year (which Report and Estimate shall be immediately printed for the use of the Members); and for receiving propositions for any new Rule or alteration of any existing Rule of the Club. But no alteration of the Rules or Regulations of the Club shall take place unless upon a proposal in writing signed by two Members, which shall be sent to the Committee one month, and be hung up in one of the public rooms a fortnight, before the General Meeting, and be printed and added to the Report. If any such new Rule or alteration shall be proposed and passed at such Meeting, a second Meeting shall be held on that day fortnight, for the sole purpose of ratifying or regulating any propositions which may have been voted on the Second Monday in May, except the choice of the Com

mittee, which shall be final on the first election. The
Annual Abstract and Estimate are to be laid on the
Tables of the Club a fortnight before the General
Meeting.

XXI.-If, at any other time, it shall appear expedient to adopt any new Rule, or to alter any old one, or to make any other proposition which may appear to require the sanction of a General Meeting, the Committee may call an Extraordinary General Meetting, on giving fourteen days' notice, specifying, in the form of a Resolution, the object intended to be submitted, and the discussion shall be confined to that object only. The Committee shall also call an Extraordinary General Meeting on the written requisition of Thirty Members, not being of the Committee, under restrictions similar to the preceding; but no question shall be discussed, and no proposition voted, which shall not have been distinctly stated in the requisition for the General Meeting. In case the proposition to be discussed should be connected with the conduct of any Member, a Ballot shall take place as to the result; but if that result should tend to the expulsion of the party, two-thirds of a meeting of at least Sixty Members must concur therein.

Notices of Extraordinary

XXII.-All notices of Extraordinary General Meetings, issued by the Committee, in virtue of the Meetings. preceding Rule, must be signed by ten of its Mem

bers, and be posted up in one of the public rooms of the Club for at least fourteen days previous to the day of meeting.

XXIII.-No proposition shall ever be adopted without the sanction of a majority consisting of twothirds of the Extraordinary General Meeting, composed of at least Sixty Members.

XXIV. No subject, except what relates to the management of the concerns of the Club, shall ever be proposed or brought forward for discussion at any Annual or General Meeting. The chair shall be taken at all Meetings at One o'clock precisely.

XXV. The Club-house must be open every day for the reception of Members, at Nine o'clock in the forenoon, and be shut up at One o'clock A.M., after which hour no Member shall be admitted. Such Members, however, as may then happen to be actually within the house, are not to be restricted or influenced with respect to their departure by this Rule.

XXVI. No Member shall, on any pretence or in any manner whatsoever, receive any Profit, Salary, or Emolument, from the Funds or transactions of the Club, under the penalty of expulsion.

XXVII. No Member shall give any money or

gratuity to any of the Servants of the Establish

ment.

XXVIII.-No Provisions cooked in the Clubhouse, or Wines or other Liquors, are to be sent out of the House on any pretence whatsoever.

XXIX. Any defect in a Breakfast or Dinner, complained of on the back of the Bill, and signed by the Member so complaining, must be especially noticed by the Committee, on settling the Weekly Accounts. And any inattention or improper conduct of a Servant is to be stated by letter, and signed by the Member complaining, which letter, being put into the Secretary's box, must be laid before the Committee at their next Weekly Meeting.

XXX.-All Members are to pay their Bills for every expense they incur in the Club, before they leave the House; the Steward having positive orders not to open accounts with any individual.

XXXI.-No Member shall take, or permit to be taken away, from the Club, upon any pretence whatever, or shall injure or destroy, any Newspaper, Pamphlet, Book, or other Article the property of the Institution.

XXXII. No game of Hazard shall on any ac

count be ever played, nor shall Dice be used in the Club-house.

XXXIII. No higher stake than Half-guinea Points shall be ever played for.

XXXIV. Any deviation from the three lastmentioned Rules shall, on satisfactory proof before the Committee, be attended with immediate expulsion.

XXXV.-No Member shall, on any account, bring a Dog into the Club-house.

XXXVI.-Any infraction of the Rules and Regulations of the Club shall be taken immediate cognizance of by the Committee.

XXXVII.-All expulsions for breach of any of these Rules shall be the act of the Committee, at which, however, not less than Thirteen Members shall, on every such occasion, be present, and the Majority shall concur therein.

XXXVIII—Any Member so expelled, whether by the Committee or a General Meeting, shall forfeit, ipso facto, all right to, or claim upon, the Club, or its property or funds, and shall cease to be a Member, without appeal.
