This set collects together the most significant economic writings produced in nineteenth-century Ireland. It includes material by leading writers such as Cairnes, Whately and Torrens and also by more obscure figures who nonetheless made original contributions of great interest. Whilst much of this material lies within the mainstream of British political economy, other material represents a critique of this orthodoxy.
The volumes are organized thematically and feature material from virtually all major fields of economics including monetary economics, labour economics and international trade. Drawing on a wide range of sources, this set will be the standard reference on this subject.
