I will not leave you orphans: I will come to you. St. John xiv. 18.

Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me, may be with me; that they may see my glory, which thou hast given me : because thou hast loved me before the foundation of the world. St. John xvii. 24.

And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them, that they may be one, as we also are one. St. John xvii. 22.

Every one that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall possess life everlasting. St. Matt. xix. 29.

And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall be sit upon the seat of his majesty. St. Matt. xxv. 31.

Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? Ver. 37.

And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in, or naked, and clothed thee? Ver. 38.

Or when did we see thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee? Ver. 39.

And the King, answering, shall say to them : Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me. Ver. 40.

Well done, good and faithful servant; because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will set thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. St. Matt. xxv. 23.

Then shall the just shine as the sun, in the kingdom of their Father. St. Matt. xiii. 43.


Be ye, therefore, wise as serpents, and simple as doves. St. Matt. x. 16.


Blessed are the clean of heart; for they shall see God. St. Matt. v. 8.



And I say to you, my friends: Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. St. Luke xii. 4.

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Ver. 6.

Fear not, therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows. Ver. 7.

Then Jesus said to his disciples : If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. St. Matt. xvi. 24.

He that taketh not up his cross, and followeth me, is not worthy of me. St. Matt. x. 38.

For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it. St. Matt. xvi. 25.

The kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hidden in a field: which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth, and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. St. Matt. xiii. 44.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant seeking good pearls : Ver. 45.

Who, when he had found one pearl of great price,


went his way, and sold all that he had, and bought it. Ver. 46.

Amen, amen I say to you, unless the grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, St. John xii. 24.

Itself remaineth alone. But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. Ver. 25.

Then Peter said: Behold, we have left all things, and have followed thee. St. Luke xviii. 28.

If any man come to me, and hate not his father and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. St. Luke xiv. 26.

And whosoever doth not carry his cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Ver. 27.

So likewise every one of you that doth not renounce all that he possesseth, cannot be my disciple. Ver. 33.


Now this is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. St. John vi. 39.

I am the resurrection and the life : he that believeth in me, although he be dead, shall live: St. John xi. 25.

And every one that liveth, and believeth in me, shall not die for ever. Ver. 26.

No man can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon. St. Matt. vi. 24.

And the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts after other things entering in, choke the word: and it is made fruitless. St. Mark iv. 19.

And Jesus looking round about, saith to his disciples : How hardly shall they who have riches, enter into the kingdom of God! St. Mark x. 23.

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Ver. 25.

And they wondered the more, saying among themselves : Who then can be saved ? Ver. 26.

And Jesus looking on them, saith: With men it is impossible; but not with God: for all things are possible with God. Ver. 27.

Wo to you that are rich: for you have your consolation. St. Luke vi. 24.

Wo to you that are filled : for you shall hunger. Wo to you that laugh now: for you shall mourn and weep. Ver. 25.

And he said to them: Take heed and beware of all covetousness : for a man's life doth not consist in the abundance of things which he possesseth. St. Luke xii. 15.

And he spoke a similitude to them, saying : The land of a certain rich man brought forth plenty of fruits : Ver. 16.
