5 Praise His mercy, that did send

Jesus for our guide and friend :
Praise Him every heart and voice,

Him who makes all worlds rejoice. 2.

Praise and Prayer for Children, 148th M.
ABOVE the clear blue sky,

In heaven's bright abode ;
The angel host on high
Sing praises to their God,

They love to sing
To God their King,

2 But God from infant tongues

On earth receiveth praise,
We then our cheerful songs
In sweet accord will raise,

We too will sing
To God our King,

3 O blessed

Lord, Thy truth
To us Thy babes impart,
And teach us in our youth
To know Thee as Thou art,

Then shall we sing
To God our King,

The Attributes of God. C.M. 1 I

SING the mighty power of God,

That made the mountains rise;
That spread the flowing seas abroad,

And built the lofty skies.
2 I sing the wisdom that ordain'd

The sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His command,

And all the stars obey.
3 I sing the goodness of the Lord,

That fill'd the earth with food :
He form'd the creatures with his word,

And then pronounc'd them good.
4 Lord, how Thy wonders are display'd,

Where'er I turn mine eyes ;
If I survey the ground I tread,

Or gaze upon the skies.
5 There's not a plant nor flower below,

But makes Thy glories known;
And clouds arise, and tempests blow,

By order from Thy throne.
6 His hand is my perpetual guard,

He keeps me with His eye ;
Why should I then forget the Lord,

Who is for ever nigh?

The Love of God.
How dearly God must love us,

And this poor world of ours,
To spread blue skies above us,

And deck the earth with flowers;
There's not a weed so lowly,

Nor bird that cleaves the air,
But tells, in accent holy,

His kindness and His care.

He bids the sun to warm us,

And light the path we tread;
At night, lest aught should harm us,

guards our welcome bed :
He gives our needful clothing,

And sends our daily food,
His love denies us nothing

His wisdom deemeth good.

3 The Bible, too, He sends us,

That tells how Jesus came,
Whose word can save and cleanse us

From guilt, and sin, and shame;
Oh! may God's mercies move us

To serve Him with our powers ;
For, oh! how He must love us,

And this poor world of ours.

The Praise of Children. 1

shall be the children's cry, Praise the Lord, the Lord most high; Heaven and earth, on you we call,

Praise the Lord, the Lord of all !
2 Praise Him, all ye hosts above,

In the Paradise of love;
Sun and moon, your voices raise ;

Sing, ye stars, your Maker's praise.
3 Earth, from all thy depths below,

Ocean's hallelujahs flow;
Hills and mountains burst in song ;

Rivers roll in praise along.
4 Let His truth by babes be told,

And His wonders by the old;
Youths and maidens, with delight,

Here in hymns of praise unite.
5 High above all height His throne,
Excellent His Name alone;
Every eing bless that Name;
All His works, His

power proclaim.
The Father in Heaven.

GREAT God, and wilt Thou condescend

To be my Father and my Friend ?
I, a poor child, and Thou so high,
The Lord of earth, and air, and sky ?

2 Art Thou my Father! canst Thou bear

To hear my poor imperfect prayer ?
Or wilt Thou listen to the praise,
Which such a little one can raise ?

3 Art Thou my Father? let me be

A meek obedient child to Thee;
And try in word, and deed, and thought,
To serve and please Thee as I ought.

4 Art Thou my Father? then at l'ast,

When all my days on earth are past,
Send down and take me in Thy love,

To be Thy better child above. 7.

LORD, before Thy throne we bend,

Once again we worship Thee;
Let Thy Spirit now descend,
Suffer us to come to Thee.

2 Suffer us to come and learn,

Lighten our beclouded eyes;
Do not Thou our weakness spurn,
Or we never can be wise.

3 Whither else should sinners go,

Frail and impotent as we?
Thou hast pardon to bestow,
Suffer us to come to Thee.
