Are the shadows lengthening o'er us?
Bless His care who guards the night.
2 Part in peace! with deep thanksgiving,
Rendering, as we homeward tread,
Gracious service to the living,
Tranquil memory to the dead.

3 Part in peace! so give the praises
God our Maker loveth best;
Such the worship that upraises
Human hearts to heavenly rest.
Hallelujah! Amen.

Anniversary.

1 WAKE, wake, our yearly strain anew,

For mercies countless as the dew;

O Thou whose goodness crowns our days,
Attune our lips and lives to praise.

L.M.

2 Though hosts of angels chaunt Thy Name, Though all creation sounds the same, Thou wilt not slight our lisping lays, Then tune our lips and lives to praise. 3 O could we love Thee, as we ought, Each breath were praise, and prayer each thought:

Father, our earthward spirits raise,

And tune our lips and lives to praise. 4 To praise Thee is earth's noblest joyTo praise Thee heaven's own sweet employTo praise Thee cheers our darkest days, O fill our lips and lives with praise.

When shall we meet again?

WHEN shall we meet again,

Meet ne'er to sever?

When will peace wreathe her chain
Round us for ever?

Our hearts will ne'er repose,

Safe from each blast that blows,
In this dark vale of woes;
Never, no never.

2 When shall love freely flow
Pure as life's river?
When shall sweet friendship glow,
Changeless for ever?

Where joys celestial thrill,

Where bliss each heart shall fill,
And fears of parting chill,
Never, no never.

3 Up to that world of light,
Take us, dear Saviour;

May we all there unite,
Happy for ever;

Where kindred spirits dwell,
There may our music swell,
And time our joys dispel,
Never, no never.

4 Soon shall we meet again,

Meet ne'er to sever;

Soon shall peace wreathe her chain
Round us for ever.

Our hearts will then repose
Secure from worldly woes;
Our songs of praise shall close,
Never, no never.

Our Native Land.

NOW pray we for our country,
That England long may be
The holy and the happy,
And the gloriously free!
Who blesseth her is blessed!
So peace be in her walls;
And joy in all her palaces,
Her cottages and halls.

National Anthem.

GOD

bless our native land!

May heaven's protecting hand

Still guard our shore;

May peace her sway extend,
Foe be transformed to friend,
And Britain's power depend
On war no more.

2 Through every changing scene,
O Lord! preserve the Queen;
Long may she reign.

Her heart inspire and move
With wisdom from above;

And in a nation's love

Her throne maintain.

3 May just and righteous laws
Uphold the public cause,
And bless our Isle.

Home of the brave and free,
The land of liberty,

We

e pray that still on Thee
Kind heaven may smile.

4 And not this land alone,
But be thy mercies known
From shore to shore.
Lord, make the nations see
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,

The wide world o'er.

5 Oh, may the human race
God's message soon embrace,
"Good will to man.'

TO the God that guards us, guides us,
All along this earthly way,
And with every good provides us,
Let us grateful homage pay.
For Thy mercies,

With true service,

Lord, we'll praise Thee every day.

Let the Creator's praise arise;

Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.
