The beautiful specimens yet remaining are very numerous; and it is proposed to engrave some of the most interesting of the different periods of Architecture to which they belong; and to add a few of modern date, in proof that the genius! of living Architects is raising the standard of taste and feeling to a truer estimate of our olden memorials, as well as furthering the restoration of GOTHIC ECCLESIASTICAL ARCHITECTURE. They will be engraved in such a style, that whilst attractive to the Amateur, the Architectural Student may depend on the accuracy of the details. And to both Architects and Amateurs the Publisher will be grateful for hints, or drawings, in furtherance of his design, the latter of which will be SCHO carefully preserved, and faithfully returned.
