Perhaps more than anyone else, John Joachim Zubly (1724 - 1781) provided the intellectual and constitutional rationale for Georgia's participation in the American Revolution. The Swiss-born Reformed minister was Georgia's only important political pamphleteer in the era of the American Revolution.
