HALL (52); on the left is Farringdon Market. Proceed to the HOLBORN VIADUCT

(53). Ascend the steps, and turn to the left along Holborn.

[A'bus had better be taken here to the corner of TOTTENHAM COURT ROAD (54), on the right, about a mile and a-quarter. Then take another 'bus to the "Mother Red Cap," High Street, Camden Town, about two miles.]

On reaching this point turn to the left up Park Street, at the top of which, on the left side, is the York and Albany" hotel. (Open from 10 till dusk. Admission Is., Children 6d. A Descriptive Book and Plan of the Gardens, 6d., should be purchased at the entrance.)

Madame Tussaud's Exhibition is open all day, but should not be visited until the evening, when the gas is lighted and a band attends. As dinner, tea, or any other refreshment can be obtained in the Gardens, the greater portion of the day can be spent here and in the evening you will enjoy a pleasant stroll across the Regent's Park to the Exhibition; or you can return to Charing Cross by 'bus, direct from the "Mother Red Cap," and make a special journey to the Exhibition by 'bus in the evening, or by Metropolitan Railway to the Baker Street Station; but the latter is a roundabout journey, as a glance at the Railway Map, page 93, will show.

If you decide upon going straight to Madame Tussaud's, leave the gardens by the park gate and enter the REGENT'S PARK (57). Turn to the right and cross the park by the Broad Walk. The park is intersected by Chester Road some distance along this walk, which you must cross, and continue along the other portion of the park. There are some beautiful flower-beds here to the left. On reaching the further side of the park you will find yourself opposite Park Square. Turn to the right and proceed some distance, then to the left through York Gate.

Marylebone Church is opposite. Turn to the right along Marylebone Road as far as York Place, at the corner of which is the Baker Street Station of the Underground Railway. Turn to the left down York Place, and proceed along Baker Street in line. On the right side of the street, after passing Dorset Street, is the Baker Street Bazaar and MADAME TUSSAUD'S EXHIBITION (58). (Open till 10 in the Evening; admission Is. A Catalogue will be necessary here; price 6d.)

On leaving the Exhibition, take an "Atlas" 'bus at the door, going towards the right, to Charing Cross.
