The Copie of a Letter wryten by a Master | of Arte of Cambridge to his Friend in London, concerning some Talke past of late betwen two worshipful and graue Men, about the present State, and some Procedinges of the Erle of Leycester and his Friendes in England. 1584. 8vo. 17. 11s. 6d. This celebrated libel is said to have been written by Father Parsons, the Jesuit, from hints furnished by Lord Treasurer Burleigh. The later editions are entitled Leicester's Commonwealth. At the end of The English Mercurie' no. 24, November 24, 1588, there is the following announcement: 4thly. Father Parsons' Coast well dosted: or short and pithy Animadversions on that infamous Fardle of Abuse and Falsities, entitled Leicester's Commonwealth.'
