Sir Robert Peel, in his speech at the Annual Meeting of the Blackburn Mechanics' Institution, said—“ I was reading the other day your catalogue, which I hastily scanned, containing a list of the books and pamphlets of your Institution, and I do not find one which I think you ought to possess -the Mechanics' Magazine. I think it is an admirable periodical, which should be in every institution designed for the welfare of the industrial classes, just to show you that Science is entering into everything in which we are engaged.
