Berry, of the Johns Hopkins University, will spend September and October in collecting fossil plants from the Cretaceous and Tertiary of the Gulf region from Florida to Louisiana, and northward through Arkansas, Tennessee and Kentucky. It is hoped that these collections will have an important bearing upon the correlation of the containing deposits and will serve as a basis for subsequent monographic studies.
