is thy faith: be it done to thee as thou wilt. St. Matt. xv. 28.

Amen I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard-seed, you shall say to this mountain: Remove from hence to yonder place; and it shall remove: and nothing shall be impossible to you. St. Matt.

xvii. 19.

All things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. St. Matt. xxi. 22.

And when Jesus saw their faith, he saith to the sick of the palsy Son, thy sins are forgiven thee. St. Mark ii. 5.

Thy faith hath made thee safe: go in peace. St. Luke vii. 50.

If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. St. Mark ix. 22.

And immediately the father of the boy crying out, with tears said: I do believe, Lord; help thou my unbelief. Ver. 23.

And the Apostles said to the Lord: Increase our faith. St. Luke xvii. 5.

And the Lord said: If you had faith like a grain of mustard-seed, you might say to this mulberry-tree: Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou transplanted into the sea, and it should obey you. Ver. 6. And Jesus said to him: Receive thy sight; thy faith hath made thee whole. St. Luke xviii. 42.

And immediately he saw, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. Ver. 43.

But as many as

received him, to them he gave power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name. St. John i. 12.

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up: St. John iii. 14.

That whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. Ver. 15.

For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. Ver. 16.

Amen, amen I say to you, he that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life; and cometh not into judgment, but is passed from death to life. St. John v. 24.

This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he hath sent. St. John vi. 29.

And this is the will of my Father that sent me; that every one who seeth the Son, and believeth in him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. St. John vi. 40.

But Jesus cried out and said: He that believeth in me, doth not believe in me, but in him that sent me. St. John xii. 44.

Amen, amen I say to you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do, he shall do also, and greater than these shall he do: because I go to the Father. St. John xiv. 12.

Jesus saith to him: Because thou hast seen me, Thomas, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and have believed. St. John xx. 29.

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying: Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples do not fast? St. Matt. ix. 14.

And Jesus said to them: Can the children of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then they shall fast. Ver. 15.

When you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, sad: for they disfigure their faces, that to men they may appear fasting. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward. St. Matt. vi. 16.

But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thy head, and wash thy face; Ver. 17.

That thou appear not fasting to men, but to thy Father, who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee. Ver. 18.

FEAR OF GOD.

I will show you whom you shall fear. Fear ye him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell: Yea, I say to you, fear him. St. Luke xii. 5.

His mercy is from generation to generation, to them that fear him. St. Luke i. 50.

FORGIVENESS.

Forgive, and you shall be forgiven. St. Luke vi. 37. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. St. Matt. vi. 12.

For if you forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will also forgive you your offences. Ver. 14. But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your sins. Ver. 15.

And when you shall stand to pray, forgive, if you have aught against any man; that your Father also, who is in heaven, may forgive you your sins. St. Mark

xi. 25.

You have heard that it hath been said: Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thy enemy. St. Matt. v. 43.

But I say to you: Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: Ver. 44.

That you may be the children of your Father, who is in heaven who maketh his sun to rise upon : good and the bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust. Ver. 45.

Then Peter came unto him, and said: Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? St. Matt. xviii. 21.

Jesus said to him: I say not to thee, till seven times; but till seventy times seven. Ver. 22.

Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened to a king, who would take an account of his servants. Ver. 23.

And when he had begun to take the account, one was brought to him, that owed him ten thousand talents. Ver. 24.

And as he had not wherewith to pay it, his lord commanded that he should be sold, and his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. Ver. 25.

But that servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Ver. 26.

And the lord of that servant, being moved with compassion, let him go, and forgave him the debt. Ver. 27.

But when that servant was gone out, he found one of his fellow-servants that owed him a hundred pence, and laying hold of him, he throttled him, saying: Pay what thou owest. Ver. 28.

And his fellow-servant, falling down, besought him, saying Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Ver. 29.

And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. Ver. 30.

Now his fellow-servants seeing what was done, were very much grieved: and they came, and told their lord all that was done. Ver. 31.

Then his lord called him, and said to him: Thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all the debt, because thou besoughtest me. Ver. 32.

Shouldest not thou then have had compassion also on thy fellow-servant, even as I had compassion on thee ? Ver. 33.

And his lord being angry, delivered him to the torturers, until he should pay all the debt. Ver. 34.

So also shall my heavenly Father do to you, if you forgive not every one his brother from your hearts. Ver. 35.
