Man like himself, and doth he ask Forgiveness of his own
M. IF Ye forgive Men their Trefpaffes, your heavenly Father will also forgive You: But if Ye forgive not Men their Trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your Trefpasles. (Matth. vi. 14, 15.)

40.) Thou shalt keep therefore his Statutes, and his Commandments wbich I command thee this Day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy Children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong 'thy Days upon the Earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for ever.
Min. God fpake all these Words, saying, I AM THE LORD THY GOD; (Exod. xx.)

II. Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven I. mage, or the Likeness of any Thing, that is in Heaven above, or that is in the Earth beneath, or that is in the Water under the Earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the Iniquity of the Fathers upon the Children, unto the third and fourth Generation of them that hate me; and shewing Mercy unto thousands of them that love me and kcep my Command, ments.
III. Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his Name in vain.
IV. REMEMBER the Sabbath-Day, to keep it holy, Six Days shalt thou labor, and do all thy Work; but the Seventh Day is the Sabhath of the Lord thy God: in it thou fhalt not do any Work, Thou, nor thy Son, nor thy Daughter, thy Man-Servant, nor thy Maid-Servant, nor thy Cattle, nor thy Stranger that is within thy Gates, For in Six Days the Lord made Heaven and Earth, the Sea, and all that in them is, and refted the Seventh Day:
Wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath-Day, and hallowed it.
V. Honor thy Father and thy Mother, that thy Days may be long upon the Land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
VI. Thou shalt do no Murder.
IX Thou shalt not bear falfe Witness against thy Neighbor.
X. Thou shalt not covet thy Neighbor's Houfe, thou fhalt not covet thy Neighbor's Wife, nor his Man-Servant, not his Maid-Servant, nor his Ox, nor his Als, nor any Thing that is thy Neighbor's.
THESE are the Ten COMMANDMENTS delivered unto Mojes at Mount Sinai, written with the Finger of God himself upon two Tables of Stone, which were to be kept and observed for ever by his people. Our blerfed Savior hath confirmed the same, and given us also a new Commandment, that We love one another as He hath loved Us. (John xiii. 34). And the SUM of the Whole is this; Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy Heart, and with all thy Soul, and with all thy Mind. This is the First and great
Commandment. And the Second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy Neighbor as thyfelf: And all Things whatsoever We would that Men should do unto Us, We should do even so unto Them; (Matth. xxii. 37-40.--vii. 12.) treat them in every Instance, just as We would think it reasonable to be treated by them, if We were in their Cira cumstances, and They in Ours. On these two Com. mandments, (faith our LORD,) hang all the Law and the Prophets.--And to encourage our Observation of these Rules, we thould remember, that to obey God is happy Life eternal; but to disobey him is Death and Condemnation, if not repented of: 'And the Apostle James (ii.

don our many Tranfgreffions of thy holy Laws; and We beseech Thee, write these thy Commandments so deep in our Hearts, that we may always incline to do thy Will, and evermore fear to offend Thee. Amen.
Then Mall be said the following HYMN, sanding. M. IGHTEOUS art Thou, O Lord, in all thy
Ways, and true is thy Judgement. P. The Testimonies that Thou haft commanded, are exceeding righteous and true. czy M. Thy Righteousness is an everlasting Righteoulness, and thy Law is the Truth. (Pl. cxix. 137, 138, 142.)
P. The Words of the Lord are pure Words, even as the Silver which from the-Earth is tried, and purified feven Times in the Fire (Pf. xii. 6.) + M. The Statutes of the Lord are right, and rejoice the Heart; the Commandment of the Lord is pure, and giveth Light unto the Eyes. (Pf. 'xix. 8.)
P. Gracious and righteous is the Lord, therefore will He téach Sinners in the Way.
M. Them that are meek shall He guide in Judgement: And such as are gentle, them shall He learn his Way. (Pf. xx. 8, 9.)
P. Blessed are those that are undefiled in the Way, and walk in the Law of the Lord.
M. Blessed are they that keep his Testimonies, and -seek Him with their whole Heart. (Pl. cxix. I, 2.)
