ons fhould be made for Kings and all that are in Authority; moft heartily We befeech Thee, with thine efpecial Favor to behold our rightful Sovereign King GEORGE, and fo replenish Him with the Grace of thy holy Spirit, that He may always incline to thy Will, and walk in thy Way; endue him plenteoufly with heavenly Gifts, grant him in Health and Wealth long to live; give him Wifdom and Understanding from above, that he may govern the People committed to his Charge with Juftice and Equity, and be the Minifter of God to them for Good: And may We and all his Subjects love and chearfully obey him, and render him that Honor and Subjection which is due unto him: Do Thou prefide in all his Councils, and profper his good Defigns for the Welfare and Happiness of thefe Nations: Strengthen him that he may vanquish and overcome all his Enemies, let them, that hate him, flee before him; and after a long and a profperous Reign upon Earth, receive him to thine everlasting Kingdom of Glory in Heaven, through Jefus Chrift our Lord. Amen.

Perfons of Rank and Diftinction amongst us, that they may regard their feveral worldly Advantages as Talents which Thou haft committed to them, and be careful to improve them to thy Glory, and the Good of their Fellow-Creatures: May they always confider, that with Thee there is no Refpect of Perfons, and that it becometh them to walk circumspectly before Thee in thy Fear, and to obey all thy holy Laws; that whenfoever Thou feeft fit to put an End to their Earthly Grandeur, and call them to their final Account, they may be able to give it up with Joy, and be admitted into thine eternal Kingdom of Glory. Amen.

feech Thee for the High Court of Parliament under our lawful Sovereign King GEORGE III. at this Time affembled, that Thou wouldst be pleased to direct and profper all their Consultations and Debates, to the Advancement of thy Glory, the Good of thy Church, the Safety, Honor and Welfare of thefe Kingdoms; that all Things may be fo ordered and fettled by their Endeavors, that Peace and Happinefs, Truth and Juftice, Religion and Liberty may be established amongst us to all Generations, to the Glory of thy Name in Chrift our Lord. Amen.]

Prayer for the Judges and Magifirates.

GOD, the great Governor of the World, thou righteous Judge eternal; blefs, We befeech Thee, all the Judges and Magiftrates of thefe Lands, fupreme or fubordinate: Grant that All, who are entrusted with the Administration of public Juftice in thefe Kingdoms, may be upright and true, fearing God and hating Covetousness and Corruption, without Partiality and without Hypocrify; and do Thou fo direct and guide them with Wisdom and Underftanding in the due Execution of their Office, that, in all Cafes that come before them, they may judge righteous Judgment, and thereby ap

prove themselves to Thee the righteous Lord, who loveth Righteousness, and whofe Countenance beholdeth the Upright: Make them to be a Terror to evil Doers only, and an Encouragement and Protection to them that do well, that under their several Administrations We may lead quiet and peaceable Lives in all Godliness and Honesty. Amen.

Prayer for the Minifters of God's Word.

GOD, the Father of Lights, who alone giveft every good and perfect Gift, We pray Thee to fend down upon all the Bifhops and Minifters of thine everlafting Gofpel the gracious Influence of thy Holy Spirit, that they may be filled with the Knowledge of thy Will, in all Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding, and be thoroughly furnished for that good Work of opening Men's Eyes, and of turning them from Darkness to Light, and from the Power of Sin and Satan unto Thee the living and true God: Give unto them the Spirit of Unity and Concord, of Peace and Charity, and every Grace of the Gofpel; and that they may truly pleafe Thee and walk worthy of their holy Vocation, may they be Examples to their Flock, in Word and in Work, in Faith and Purity, that when Christ, the chief Shepherd, fhall appear, they may receive from Him a Crown of Glory, which fadeth not away. Grant this, O Lord, for the Honor of our Head and Advocate, Jefus Chrift. Amen.

Prayer for the Performance of Relative Duties, and for fuch as are in a State of Profperity.

OST Great and ever bleffed Lord our God, whom it hath pleased to place Men in different Conditions in this Life; We entreat Thee to affift Us to perform thofe particular Duties which our feveral Stations here do require of us. May Thofe, whọ are rich and profperous in this World, wifely improve the Talents committed to their Truft; may they not be high-minded, nor truft in uncertain Riches, but in Thee the living and true God; give them Hearts to

devife liberal Things, that they may be rich in good Works, ready to diftribute and willing to communicate to those who are in Want, laying up for themselves a good Foundation against the Time to come, that they may inherit eternal Life.-May Such as are poor and in low Condition be humble and modeft, diligent in their refpective Employments, honeft, juit and faithful in all Things, and contented with that Station, in which thy wife Providence hath placed them in this World, and in the Life to come may they be rewarded much more abundantly.-May Such as are in a Married State, be true and faithful to each other, live together in mutual Love and Friendship, bearing with one another's Infirmities, and endeavoring to be a conftant Comfort and Support one to the other.-May Parents love their Children, and carefully bring them up in the Knowledge and Fear of God, in the Paths of Virtue, and in the regular Government of their Paffions and Defires.-And may Children attend diligently to their Parents' Inftructions, love and honor them, and be subject unto them, with all Duty and Gratitude.-May Mafters be careful of their Servants, juft and gentle and kind unto them, knowing that they themselves have a Mafter in Heaven. And may Servants obey their Mafters in all Things, not with Eye-Service, as Men-Pleafers, but be diligent, honeft and faithful to them, as knowing that thine Eye is always over them, and that they must at last give an Account. All which we humbly ask of Thee to grant, through Jefus Chrift our Lord, Amen,

OST juft and gracious God, We commend to thy fatherly Goodness all Thofe that are any ways afflicted or diftreffed, whether in Mind, Body, or Eftate: Be Thou in Heaven thy holy Habitation a Father to the fatherless, the God and Husband to the Widow: Speak Peace and Comfort to troubled Minds, give unto Them the Oil of Joy for Mourning, the Garment of Praife for the Spirit of Heaviness. Behold the Tears of them that are oppreffed, and bring them out of thẻ Hands of their Oppreffors: Deliver Them that are

tempted, help Such as are in Danger, and provide for the Poor and Needy; grant unto them All Patience un◄ der their Sufferings, a perfect Refignation to thy heavenly Will, and a happy Deliverance out of their Afflictions. Strengthen and affift in an efpecial Manner, we beseech thee, All that are under Bonds or Imprisonment, or any kind of Perfecution for the Caufe of Truth, and the Teftimony of a good Confcience; let thy Confolations, O God, be proportioned to their Trials, and as their Day is, fo let their Strength be: and may the Sufferings which any of thy Servants undergo in this prefent Life, work out for them a far more exceeding and eternal Weight of Glory.-Extend thy Compaffions to Those who are fick and weak, or that are under any Bodily Pains or Disorders, (* particularly Thefe for whom our Prayers are defired,) look upon their Affliction and their Pain, and forgive their Sins; if it be confiftent with the all-wife Defigns of thy Providence, deliver their Souls from Death, their Eyes from Tears, and their Feet from falling, that they may yet walk before Thee in the Land of the Living: but if Thou haft otherwise determined, and the Time of their Departure is at Hand, fupport them in their laft Moments, lay about them thine everlafting Arms, and when Flesh and Heart faileth, be Thou the Strength of their Hearts, and their Portion for ever. Finally, O Lord, We befeech Thee to blefs and keep all our Relations and Friends, reward our Benefactors, and forgive our Enemies.-Give unto Us alfo thy Servants here.before Thee, friendly and charitable Difpofitions, chearfully to affift and relieve All that ate in Difirefs to the utmost of our Power. And may We learn to be of a meek and patient Spirit, to submit to thy Will in all Things, be rich in Faith, and Heirs of that Kingdom, which Thou haft promised to them that love Thee. May our Hearts be right in thy Sight, fincere and pure before thee, and ftedfaft in thy Covenant: And let us be graciously accepted in Jefus Chrift thy well beloved, whofe we are, and whom we ferve, and in whom we defire ever to be found, living and dying. Amen.
