28. He withdraweth not his Eyes from the Righteous ; but with Kings are they on the Throne, yea, He doth stablish them for ever, and they are exalted.

29. And if they be bound in Fetters, and be holden in Cords of Affliction; then He Theweth them their Work, and their Tranfgreffions that they have exceeded.

30. He openeth also their Ear to Discipline, and commandeth that they return from Iniquity.

31. If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their Days in Prosperity, and their Years in Pleasures.

32. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the Sword, and they shall die without Knowledge.

33. But the Hypocritus in Heart heap up Wrath; they cry not, when He bindeth them.

34. They die in Youth, and their Life is among the unclean.

35. He delivereth the poor in his Ami&tion, and openeth their Ears in Oppression.

36. Behold, God exalteth by his Power : who teacheth like Him?

37. Now to Him, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords; who only hath Immortality, dwelling in the Light, which no Man can approach unto, whom no Man hath leen, nor can see: (1 Timot. vi. 15.)

38. To whom be Honor and Power everlafing. Amen.

EHOLD, God exalteth by his Power, who

teacheth like Him ? who hath enjoined Him his Way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought Iniquity? (Job xxxvi. 22.)

2. Remember that thou magnifie bis Work, which Men behold: every Man may fee it, Man may behold it afar off.

3. Behold, God is great, and we know him not ; neither can the Number of his Years be searched out,

4. For He maketh small the Drops of Water ; they pour down Rain, according to the Vapor thereof; which the Clouds do drop, and diftill upon Man abundantly.

5. Also can Any understand the Spreadings of the Clouds, or the Noise of his Tabernacle? Fehold, He spreadeth his Light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the Sea.

6. For hy them judgeth He the People; He giveth Meat in Abundance.

7. With Clouds He covereth the Light, and commandeth it not to shine, by the Cloud that cometh betwixt.

8. The Noise thereof dheweth concerning it, the Cattle also concerning the Vapor.

9. HEAR attentively the Noise of his Voice, and the Sound that goeth out of his Mouth. (ib. xxxvii. 2.)

10. He directcth it under the whole Heaven, and his Lightening unto the Ends of the Earth.

11. After it a Voice roareth ; He thundereth with the Voice of his Excellency, and He will not stay them when his Voice is heard.

12. God thundereth marvelously with his Voice; great Things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.

13. For He saith to the Snow, be thou on the Earth ; likewise to the small Rain, and to the great Rain of his Strength.

14. He fealeth up the Hand of every Man, that all Men may know his work.

15. Then the Beasts go into Dens, and remain in their Places.

16. Out of the South cometh the Whirlwind, and Cold out of the North.

17. By the Breath of God, Frost is given ; and the Breadth of the Waters is strait'ned.

18. Also by watering He wearieth the thick Cloud ; He scattereth his bright Cloud.

19. And it is turned round about by his Counsels, that they may do whatsoever He commandeth them upon the Face of the World in the Earth.

20. He causi th it to come, whether for Correction, or for his Land, or for Mercy.

21. Hearken unto this diligently, Oye People ; stand still, and consider the wond'rous Works of God.

22. Doft

22. Doft thou know when God disposed them, and caused the Light of his Cloud to Shine?

23. Doft Thou know the Balancings of the Clouds, the wond'sous Works of Him which is perfect in Knowledge! How thy Garments are warm, when He quieteth the Earth by the South Wind? Haft thou with Him spread out the Sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking-Glass ?

24. Teach Us What We shall say unto Him; for We cannot order our Speech by reason of Darkness. With God is terrible Majesty.

25. Touching the Almighty, We cannot find him out; He is excellent in Power, and in Judgement, and in Plenty of Justice ; He will not affilict.

26. Men do therefore fear him: He respecteth not any that are wise of Heart.

27. Thy MERCY, O Lord, is in the Heavens; and thy Faithfulnefs reacheth unto the Clouds : thy Righteousness ftandech like the strong Mountains ; thy Judgements are like the great Deep. (Pl. xxxvi.)

28. Thou, Lord, savest both Man and Beast: how excellent is thy loving-Kindness, O God! and therefore the Children of Men Thall put their Truft under the Shadow of thy Wings.

29. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the Plenteoulness of thy House; and Thou shalt give them to drink of thy Pleasures, as out of a River.

30. For with Thee is the Fountain of Life ; and in thy Light shall We fee Light.

31. O. continue forth thy loving-Kindness unto them that know Thee ; and thy Righteousness unto them that are upright of Heart.

32. WE GIVE THEE Thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come : because Thou hast taken unto Thee thy great Power, and hast reigned. (Rev. xi. 17.)

33. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our Sins in his own Blood and hath made us Kings and Priests unto God and his Fatber; to Him be Glory and Dominion for ever and ever. (ib. i. 4.)

RET NOT thyself because of the Ungodly; neither

be thou envious against the evil Doers : for they shall be cut down like the Grass, and be withered even as the green Herb. (Ps. xxxvii.) .

2. Put thou thy Trult in the Lord, and be doing good; so shalt thou dwell in the Land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

3. Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee thy Heart's desire: commit thy Way unto the Lord; put thy Trust also in him, and He shall bring it to pass.

4. He shall make thy Righteousness as clear as the Light; and thy just Dealing as the Noon-day,

5. Rest in the Lord, and abide patiently upon Him; but fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his Way, and because of the Man who bringeth wicked Devices to pass.

6. Cease from Wrath, and let go Displeasure; fret not thyself in any wise, else shalt thou be moved to do Evil.

7. For wicked Doers shall be rooted out; but they, that patiently wait upon the Lord, shall inherit the Earth.

8. For yet a little while, and the Ungodly shall be clean gone; yea, thou shalt look diligently after his Place, and it 1hall not be.

9. But the Meek-spirited shall possess the Earth, and shall be refreshed in the Abundance of Peace.

10. The wicked plotteth against the juft, and gnasheth upon him with his Teeth; the Lord fhall laugh him to scorn; for He seeth that his Day is coming.

11. A little that the righteous Man hath, is better than great Riches of the wicked : for the Arms of the Ungodly Ihall be broken ; but the Lord upholdeth the Righteous.

12. The Lord knoweth the Days of the Upright, and their Inheritance shall endure for ever.

13. They shall not be confounded in the perilous Time; in the Days of Dearth they shall have enough.

14. But as for the Ungodly, they shall perish, and the Enemies of the Lord shall consume as the Fat of Lambs ; yea, even as the Smoke shall they consume away.

15. The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again ; but the righteous is merciful and liberal.

16. Such

16. Such, as are blessed of God, mall possess the Land; but they, that are cursed of Him, shall be rooted out.

17. The Lord ordereth a good Man's Steps, and maketh his Way acceptable to himself: though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast away; for the Lord upholdeth him with his Hand.

18. I have been young, and now am old; and yet saw I never the righteous forsaken, nor his Seed begging their Bread.

19. The righteous is ever merciful and lendeth; and his Seed is blessed.

20. Flee from Evil, and do the Thing that is good; and dwell for evermore.

21. For the Lord loveth the Thing that is right, He forsaketh not his Saints, but they are preserved for ever.

22. The wicked shall be punished: as for the Seed of the , ungodly, it shall be rooted out.

23. The righteous shall inherit the Land, and dwell therein for ever.

24. The Mouth of the righteous is exercised in Wisdom, and his

Tongue will be talking of Judgement. 25. The Law of his God is in his Heart, and none of his Steps shall slide.

26. The ungodly seeth the righteous, and seeketh occáfion o say him.

27. The Lord will not leave him in his Hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

28. Hope thou in the Lord, and keep his Way, and He shall promote thee, that thou shalt pofless the Land; when the ungodly shall perish, thou shalt see it.

29. I myself have seen the wicked in great Power, and flourishing like a green Bay-tree: yet I went by, and lo, he was gone; I sought him, but his Place 'could no where be found.

30. Keep Innocency, and take heed unto the Thing that is right, for that shall bring a Man Peace at the last.

31. As for 'ttie Tranfgreffors, they shall perish together : and the End of the wicked is, they shall be rooted out at the last.

32. But the Salvation of the righteous cometh of the Lord, who is also their Strength in the Time of Trouble.
