Waldemar Heckel is a Canadian historian. Internationally regarded as a researcher on Alexander the Great and his times, he has published numerous articles and books on related subjects, including The Conquests of Alexander the Great and The Marshals of Alexander's Empire. Until his retirement in late 2013, he taught as a professor of ancient history at the University of Calgary. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. after army service in the US and Germany PETER G. TSOURAS retired from the US Army Reserve in 1994 in the rank of lieutenant colonel. After his army service Peter worked for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Threat Analysis Center (now the National Ground Intelligence Center) and the Defense Intelligence Agency. A highly-respected military historian, he has also written critically-acclaimed alternate histories on D-Day and Gettysburg.
