Memoirs of a Jew (b. 1929) relating the fate of her family in the Holocaust. Her parents and one of her sisters died of hunger in the Warsaw ghetto; her oldest sister escaped to the USSR in 1939. In 1941 she and her older brother decided to leave the ghetto. They sent their 4-year-old sister to an orphanage, and she was eventually deported to Treblinka with Janusz Korczak's group of children. Describes her and her brother's efforts to survive in the countryside near Lublin. Her brother was killed in the forest by Nazis; she survived with the help of peasants. In 1943 she went voluntarily to a labor camp in Germany, as a Pole with "Aryan" papers, and worked there until the end of the war. After the war she emigrated to Palestine.
